Happy Winterdays from Harbor Shores: Dec 2014
Is it really a week into December already? I don’t think it’s fair that our first snow fall was on Halloween. It feels like it should be January already. Although, what was severely cold and below average temperatures have become mild and tolerable. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind winter, however, I do get a little bitter when I have to drive in the snow… I’ll take the cold weather vs heavy snow fall any day. I’m a snuggle up to a fire, apple cider and a movie versus someone counting down the days til the ski hill opens.
But with that being said, many of you may be dying to get out of the house and looking for something entertaining to do and don’t mind putting on a few layers to be adventurous. Right now, especially during holiday season, there are countless things to do all around the county. Fireside Theatre holiday shows, Dancing Horse Christmas Magic Show (this is pretty cool if you have yet to go, the holiday show is my personal favorite), Christmas parades, Santa sightings, brunch with Santa… I feel bad for the guy, so many appearances with his biggest day of the year vastly approaching. Holiday open houses at local businesses offering discounts and special appearances or even a little gift for you to pop in and see what they have to offer. But with all that said, many of you may already have an overflowing December calendar with no end in site and just want January to be here already so you can have a day for yourself. I get it. We are so proud to announce that Harbor Shores on Lake Geneva was presented with the 2012 Hospitality Award presented by the Lake Geneva Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Our General Manager Tammie accepted the award and expressed thanks to all of us and for good weather that helped tourism this summer. In thanking us, she also expressed her gratitude to the guests that took the time to thank us in how we made their stay one they will cherish and remember. This is why our hotel has one of the least employee turnover rates because we are all family and work together with the same goals in mind. It truly is an honor and it’s an honor we hold high above our heads. because we all have worked hard for it.
